details on the girl (in chronological order):

• we met at her house through one of my friends

  • me and her were out driving around midnight with nothing to do when she suggested that we visit a friend of hers and his sister at their house

  • i agree and we drive 30m to the west side, i go in and we all exchange introductions and decide to play CAH

  • during the game me and the girl talk for a bit, we vibe cause we're both bi & like making bad sex jokes (she's pretty, which also helps)

• she flirts with me

  • we decide to adjourn to get food, so they all pile in my car and after some argument we decide on jack-in-the-box

  • on the way there the topic of BDSM comes up, and my female friend mentions that i'm definitely a sub. i'm so not!!! and i say that i'm definitely a dom, and the girl's like "oh really? well prove it to me" and so i look at her and say "oh, i will"

  • after we order the girl has the idea of the two of us flirting with the guy at the window, so she climbs up to the passenger seat and as he hands us the food i ask him "by the way, has anyone ever told you that you're really cute?" and she follows it up with "hey we're looking for a third, do you want to join us?" he blushes and closes the window on us

• we make plans

  • after we get back we keep playing CAH for a bit and eat our food. she talks about how she's in ROTC and invites me to this military ball she's doing in feb 2025. i tell her yes and she's like "wait really?" i say yes again and i give her my phone so she can put in her number

  • we eventually go and sit outside for a bit and she mentions that there's a parade in two days that she'll be in and would i want to come see her and meet her there? i agree again

  • we eventually break up the party at 5:30am and as i'm leaving she tells me "we should totally hang out sometime" and i agree

• i receive warnings

  • on the way back my friend, who has known the girl and her brother since childhood, warns me about the girl

  • she says that the girl is very manipulative, lies about everything, and toys with people's emotions

  • these qualities only serve to make the girl more attractive in my eyes

• i am not responded to

  • the girl didn't respond to any of my texts (including the one she sent herself when she put in her number)

  • i text her the day of the parade asking for details, but to no avail

  • i despair at this lost opportunity

• we return to the house

  • after about a week my friend suggests we once again go visit them at their house

  • i do so and me and the girl meet for a second time

  • we discover that when she input her number, two of the three middle digits were swapped (intentionally or unintentionally)

  • she once again expresses interest in spending time with me and we pledge to hang out next weekend

• we text

  • that tuesday she texts me casually and we have a conversation

  • i ask what she's doing and she says that she's watching her little sisters (there are 3 of them)

  • apparently she has to wake up at 5am to get them ready for school, and then also take care of them in the evenings

  • she is the only one who is given this duty because she's "the oldest" despite her younger brother having less full of a schedule than her, and their deadbeat uncle living with them just watching TV all day

  • i remark on the unfairness of the situation and say that she deserves better treatment by her family, she's like "finally someone gets it!"

  • she tells me "thank you for being nice to me" (which catches me off guard, cause i thought she had more self-confidence than that) but i reply "yeah of course!"

  • a few minutes later she follows it up with a question: "wait, why are you nice to me?"

  • i say, "well, because you seem like a sweet and kind person and i like those kinds of people", and she thanks me and says "you too"

• i am blocked

  • two hours later i receive a phone call from her, i am actually on the phone with CPS (separate story) so i ignore it

  • a few minutes later she texts me, "lose this number"

  • i text back: "wait what? i was on the phone with cps, wasn't ignoring you"

  • she says: "don't badmouth my family"

  • i text back asking for details but she doesn't respond

  • i'm thinking, apparently what i said earlier offended her somehow? but this is very strange, because she seemed to respond very positively. i tell my friend from earlier, who is with me, about it, and she says that she thinks the girl has DID

  • once again i despair

• i am unblocked

  • two days later she texts me back: "sorry, that was my mom"

  • so i guess what she's saying is that her mom snooped through her text messages with me, saw my messages, and got mad at me for insulting their family?

  • what would have happened if i had been able to take her phone call the other day?

  • she tells me that her mom demands an apology from me before i can see her again. i resist at first, but she begs me to do it, so i'm like "okay, just have her set up a call with me when she's free".

  • i ask her whether she's still down to hang out on the weekend and she says that she's not sure but that she'll let me know

  • she asks about what i'm doing and we text idly for a bit

  • it is now friday, the day before the weekend we agreed to hang out on, and we have not communicated since

this market resolves to YES if this girl and I agree that we are officially girlfriend and boyfriend before 00:00 on 1 January 2025. it resolves to NO otherwise. (note: if we get together and break up shortly afterwards, this market still resolves to YES).
